about John Browett
I have been in the building and construction industry for over 30 years. I started out building and renovating my uncle's home when I was 18 years old, mixing concrete with a hand mixer for the foundation. After this summer job I went to college for coastal marine mechanics where I learned in depth about engines and boats. Upon graduation I was hired at a boat leasing and rental company in Delta, BC where I was involved in all aspects of boat repair - woodworking, painting, engine maintenance and replacement, fiberglass work, and boat building. I did specialty varnishing for various boats - I was taught the fine art of varnishing by a very experienced Norwegian craftsman.
Over the years I have worked for many contractors and business' and have performed various jobs - painting and decorating with a company in Vancouver, cribbing and pouring foundations for a concrete and foundation contractor in Whistler, BC, taping and mudding for a drywall contractor, house repairs, doors, fences, pools , etc., a wide variety of construction and carpentry.
In 1992 I moved to Victoria and have been here since. Over the years in Victoria I have completed many projects and renovations, ranging from building fences, bathroom and home renovations, additions, new home construction as per the project pages show.
